The Historic Heights Fire Station went up in 1914 — part city hall, part fire station, part jail. Decommissioned in 1987, restored by the Houston Heights Association, with vintage carriage doors put back in homage to the horse-drawn era. Two stories, original brick, about seven thousand square feet in the middle of the Heights.

What I shoot for here: the brick and the carriage doors, the light on the second floor, the corral out back. Two photographers, the whole day, on digital and 35mm film.
