I truly fell into what I'm doing. It wasn't planned; nor thought out. It just happened. One of the most rewarding things I get to experience while photographing weddings is simple..LOVE. I know it sounds cliche, but its true. It's fing powerful. There was a moment during Lauren and Rian's wedding..after the ceremony that was one of most powerful moments I've seen shared between two people. Almost an out of body experience asking myself.."are you really shooting this?" All of me wanted to stop shooting..and just watch. Watch and take in. Experience it. Instead, I kept shooting..that personal moment was mine..and now I get to give it to Lauren & Rian. And THAT is why I do this.

For the last few years, Junebug Weddings has ran an amazing contest for photographers to submit their photos to be chosen as the "50 Best of the Best Wedding Photos of 20xx". Last year was my first year entering, and I was shocked and honored to find out I was chosen as an honorable mention. Check it out here.Well, this year I entered again. Wish me luck. It's back. I've been wanting to post one of these for quite some time..but just haven't found the time. I'm always interested to know; do you enjoy this "vision" of a wedding?All of this happiness happened at The Grove in downtown Houston, Texas.

Growing up in the country, the thought of space was at my fingertips. Every night, I had a full view of the universe. I was the weirdo kid who would rather have ended up in space on Silver Surfer's board, rather than a spaceship; but either way I was absolutely fascinated by it...and still am.Thankfully, I am blessed to have several VERY talented, smart, and driven friends. Two of those guys include Victor and Jimmy; both top secret NASA nerds. I was invited to the Fifth installment of the NASA takeover last week; and am PUMPED to show you the photos from it. The guys take their day off to show us around..and watch us drool like little babies. Who knew that the buttons in the Russian Space Station look like Russian elevator buttons? Or, did you ever stop to think that while in space DUST in one of the major issues we have due to it not settling on the ground. Instead, we run the risk of constantly scratching our cornea due to the exposure. These are the things that guys like Victor & Jimmy are constantly trying to research and make better. Recreating how we live..all over again..IN F'ING SPACE!Enjoy.

When Laura and Omar approached me about their wedding at the Las Brisas Hotel in Ixtapa, Mexico; I just couldn't say no. A small, private celebration in a little bit of paradise? Yes, please. Their happiness shines through..

Since I missed Black and White Thursday this week; I thought I'd throw out a few of my favorite colors from a recent wedding. Girl can spin a dress!

another post in black and white thursday. after last week, i received a few encouraging letters, and tweets from friends. my explanation behind these posts is #1, i barely have time to make a full wedding post right now, and #2, i see the world in black and white. don't get me wrong, i LOVE color. absolutely love. its vibrant, striking, and just appealing overall. but there is magic to black and white. either its being able to see faint of light on tiffany's face, or just enough light to provide detail to her gorgeous dress.
