another post in black and white thursday. after last week, i received a few encouraging letters, and tweets from friends. my explanation behind these posts is #1, i barely have time to make a full wedding post right now, and #2, i see the world in black and white. don't get me wrong, i LOVE color. absolutely love. its vibrant, striking, and just appealing overall. but there is magic to black and white. either its being able to see faint of light on tiffany's face, or just enough light to provide detail to her gorgeous dress.

there are certain photographers in this business that just have "it". Fer Juaristi is one of those. i've been following his work for some time now, and when i saw he was coming to Houston I'm pretty sure I booked within 30 seconds. for starters i am generally NOT a workshop guy. no specific reason for that, but have never been drawn by someones work enough to attend a workshop; but fer's on the other hand....i was there.

meeting kate and steven was far from coincendence. no doubt it was fate. steven and i actually worked together on a little short with the talented Ryan Booth. Steven was playing the "villian" and myself the FBI agent; running around in a hot building in the middle of summer with a bullet proof vest on. fun and sweaty, ha. steven nor i knew this until our first meeting; realizing "oh yah, we ran around a building playing good guy vs bad guy."
