the day(s) i rode the ms150

for whatever reason, around 6 months ago..i agreed to ride in the ms150.  it started as a playful dare; then suddenly the realization hit me that something that i have always resent, bike riding, would be apart of my life for the next 6 months.

and it was.  from 6am training rides on saturdays..which means no fun on fridays!  boooo!  but, after finally making it to the race..and riding it successfully; i’m extremely happy i agreed.  first, it was for an amazing cause.  around mile 130 or so, i noticed a woman on the side of the road cheering everyone on in a wheelchair..holding a sign that said, “i have MS, and you are riding for ME.  thank you!”  that definitely kept me going the extra 30 miles.  and second, its amazing exercise.  throughout the 2 day period, i burned over 5k calories.  now, thats about how much i eat in a day..but if you are a normal dieting american..then that’s double your caloric intake:)

i personally think that everyone should join in on this fun.  this year, they had over 20,000 riders.  why not 25,000, or 30,000?  do it!  if you want to know more about MS, please visit here.

thank you for all of my friends and family who donated, and supported me.  and to you who are actually thinking about doing it next year..its not THAT hard.  trust me.

sophia! you are one!

okay, more from this little get together to celebrate sophia’s 1st birthday.  from what i have seen from the “official” pictures..i’m pretty sure this little girl is going to end up on “my super sweet 16″.  i really feel sorry for kevin….and his wallet.

i <3 Marina & the Diamonds

or just Marina.  :)  I was introduced to Marina first by my friend Jennifer, who sent me the link to this video:

how could you NOT fall in love with this chic?  beautiful, amazing voice, and a london accent to boot..doesn’t get much better than that.  i snapped a few photos; but too many heads in the way!  she put on an amazing show at fitz..check her out, you’ll love it.

sophia turns numero UNO

little sophia turned one yesterdaay.  so friggin adorable.  i made a joke about her daddy, kevin, and then we exchanged hi-fives..over and over..and over:)

a day at the beach

i think most houstonians make the mistake of not appreciating the fact that we DO have an ocean only a short drive from us.  yes, its not san diego; there could be sea creatures swimming around you..and you never know.  regardless; its great.

sarai, sheba, and i spent the day there to celebrate our one year anniversary.  if you are dog-hunting..get a german shepherd!  amazing animals.  FUN!
