sophie grace taliaferro

Today was a very special day for me.  My friend, Kevin, who has been like a brother to me over the last 15 years welcomed a beautiful young daughter into this world, Sophie Grace Taliaferro.  Of course, it couldn’t have been done with out the wonderful mother, Heather (get better).

Throughout the pregnancy I never pondered the magnitude of Kevin having a child.  It hit me with the txt this morning, “Sophie Grace Taliaferro is here.  6 pounds 13 ounces and 20 1/2 inches.  Mom and baby are doing great.”  I can’t really explain the feeling that came over me then.  It happened again later on, when I had the opportunity to meet the pretty one.

Here’s a preview of her first meeting with Uncle Joe.  I have a feeling she’ll be own personal baby, child, young teen, adult model.

Thank you for taking these! I’m so glad you got to be there with us ~ even if I was too drugged to remember most of it :) Sophie had a great time with you and Sarai last night. She loves you already! Thanks for being a wonderful Uncle Joe!!!

I still remember the first time I met Jennifer.  It was on the corner couch at a bar named “Copa” in Midtown.  Somehow our conversation led into Diablo.  I’m not quite sure how this happened, but it did.  Needless to say, we scared away our company.  She’s been like my sister since that strange night.

I couldn’t have been any happier when Jennifer and Jeff asked me to take their engagement pictures.  I hope you guys enjoy them, as much as I enjoyed taking them!!  Comments..they never hurt anyone;)

I’m excited to finally be posting these pictures!  If you attended the Houston Fashion Week Event @ the Aquarium earlier this month; you may have seen some of these.  If not, enjoy:)

The shoot was nervous, exciting, cold, wet, fun, and incredibly humbling (I was able to work with some of Houston’s premiere photographers).  Enjoy!

tuaca body art ball + media pass

I was privileged enough to be asked to handle the photos when tuaca rolled its “body art ball” into town at Verizon Wireless theater.  I really had no idea what to expect.  Half-way through the show, I’m sweating through my gray shirt (ill prepared), and blown away by the talents of the dancers.  I’ve only seen people move like that on tv.  If you have a chance to see them next year, or in another city; do so.  Trust me.
